Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.
And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.
For this is love and nothing else is love,
To which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends he will,
But which it only needs that we fulfill.

A Short Update...

This is not a recap of the weekend, which was amazing, but rather a recap of this evening for all who think I am weird (the wedding post will come later). Well, you are all right! I am very odd and strange and I have proof. This evening I decided to make some tasty treats so that I do not have to give in to high fructose corn syrup. Thanks to the wonderful Food Network and Alton Brown's show Good Eats, I can enjoy not only granola bars, but rice crispy bars as well without killing myself quicker than you can say, cardiovascular disease. Check out these scrumptious treats, which are also quite healthful.

Now that we have seen how great they look try making them yourself...

Granola Bars

Brown Rice Crispy Bars (I made mine with puffed white rice)

T & K Leaf, put these into the recipe box!

Great recipe review.
It's so fun to bake and try new things in the kitchen. Thanks for posting a healthy treat to try. I think I need to add a few items to my grocery list...

I guess everyone else beat me to commenting. :-) They look darling! I would make them but I'd much rather have you make them for me. <3
